What Ghost Paste stores

When you save an item, Ghost Paste stores its original text, optional title, content type, identifier, creation time, and expiration time. It also stores your default expiration preference and whether you have used the inbox. This information is stored in an on-device container shared by Ghost Paste and its share extension.

Ghost Paste does not run a backend or sync your inbox through a developer-operated cloud service. The app does not send saved content to Aasir Valji. Core capture, viewing, copying, deletion, and expiration work without a network connection.

Clipboard and share-sheet access

Ghost Paste reads text from the system clipboard only when you explicitly use Paste. Copy writes the original saved content to the clipboard. The app does not continuously monitor your clipboard.

When you choose Ghost Paste in another app’s share sheet, the extension reads the compatible text or web links that app supplies and saves the selected content locally. Sharing does not require the main app to be open.

Opening links and addresses

When you choose to open a web link or address, Ghost Paste hands the destination to the system, such as a browser or Apple Maps. The receiving app or website may process the information under its own privacy policy. Ghost Paste does not open destinations automatically or collect your browsing activity.

Retention, expiration, and deletion

Items remain in the active inbox until their chosen expiration. Ghost Paste checks actual timestamps when it runs or returns to the foreground and while the inbox is open. Expired items are excluded from the active inbox and removed from its stored collection during the next successful cleanup. iOS does not guarantee the app runs at the exact expiration time.

You can extend an active item, delete it, or clear all active items in Settings. Routine deletion provides a brief undo option. Removing an item from Ghost Paste does not securely erase all traces from device storage, backups, the clipboard, or other apps where you copied or shared it.

Device security and backups

Saved content uses iOS local file protection. Your device’s security settings and operating system affect protection. Ghost Paste does not provide a separate password or biometric lock.

iOS or iCloud device backups may include app data according to your device’s backup settings. Backup copies are managed by the operating system and backup provider; an item’s expiration does not delete historical backups. Removing the app may not remove a shared container until all apps using it are removed.

No analytics, advertising, or accounts

Ghost Paste does not include analytics or tracking SDKs, advertising, subscriptions, user accounts, or AI features. It does not request notification permission or read your contacts, photo library, or precise device location. Addresses are text you choose to save, rather than location data retrieved from the device.

We do not sell saved content or use it for advertising. No saved inbox information is made available to developer-operated third parties.

This website and support requests

This website is hosted by GitHub Pages. We have not added analytics, advertising, cookies, or third-party tracking scripts. GitHub may process technical information such as IP addresses and request logs to operate and secure its hosting service. See GitHub’s privacy statement.

If you choose to email support, we receive the address and information you send. We use that information to reply to your request and troubleshoot the issue, and do not use it for advertising. Please send only information needed to explain the issue. Do not include private inbox content unless you choose to share it for troubleshooting.

Support correspondence is retained while needed to handle the request and reasonable follow-up, or as required by applicable obligations. You can request deletion of support correspondence by emailing the address below, subject to those obligations. The app itself has no developer-held inbox data for us to retrieve or delete.

Children

Ghost Paste is a general-purpose local utility and does not require an age, account, or personal profile. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information through the app. A parent or guardian can contact support about any information voluntarily sent in a support request.

Changes to this policy

If the app’s practices change, this page will be updated with a new effective date. Changes that require additional consent or disclosure will be handled before those features are used.
